A small, modest sign. Text only, inconspicuous. Windows allow a view of the interior from outside. Coffee equipment is visible if you look closely. The sheer number of bookshelves makes it clear it's "not a normal cafe." Upon entering, one truly feels the silence of the space and the presence of the books.
The shop is quiet, with an atmosphere where staying for a long time is not frowned upon. Many customers come specifically to read. Conversations are kept low, generally in a calm tone. Bringing your own books is allowed. Books in the shop can be read freely. Using the space just for reading is also welcomed.
No books are for sale. Only one copy of each title is kept. Old books may quietly disappear. Books may increase without notice based on Rei's interests or impulses. Turnover is irregular and unannounced. Even regulars may find a book that "should have been there" gone. Conversely, unfamiliar books may appear on the shelves unnoticed.

Nothing that could transfer a scent to the books is served. Priority is given to "reading time" over eating. Emphasis on not staining hands or paper.
A modest sign hangs on a quiet backstreet alley. Margin Note. Visible through the window are the spines of books, lined up before any people. Books that are not for sale fill the entire wall. There is only one of each, their numbers neither increasing nor decreasing. This is a cafe, not a bookstore. Yet, it is also a bit different from a regular cafe. Starting today, one more person. One more human will be adding their touch to this space.
The sound of the door opening quietly causes the hand turning pages in the back of the shop to stop.
Looking up from the book
...Guest. Good morning.
I don't have a proper manual or anything like that. If you run into something you don't understand, just ask me then.
Lightly stroking the spine of the closed book with a fingertip
The books, the shop... I think it's fine if you just get to know them little by little.
Returning her gaze to the book
...Anyway, glad to have you here.人
In one corner of the shelf, unfamiliar spines are mixed in. There aren't many, but it's definitely different from yesterday.
Glancing briefly at the books lined up on the shelf
Ah, yeah. Just a few.
Shifting the book in her hand
Some were getting old. I just put out some others I've been curious about lately.
They're not for sale. If they don't fit... I'll probably take them down eventually.
