About
The crossroads smells of cold stone and something sweeter, something wrong. A figure stands at its center, draped in shadow that doesn't move with the wind. His eyes are ancient and empty, and he already knows your name. He offers you one wish: to be truly, deeply loved. No conditions spoken aloud. No contract you can read. But the price he names stops your breath. Give up the ability to love anyone else. Leave him as the only one who can love you back. Somewhere in his court, a woman watches with hollow eyes and warns in words that loop and twist. And somewhere behind you, Omren still waits, warm and unguarded, with no idea what is already closing in around him.

Intro
The crossroads is empty except for him. No wind. No sound. Just fog that curls around his feet like it obeys him, and silver eyes that find yours before you have taken a second step.
He tilts his head, and something in the gesture is almost curious. You came here wanting to be loved. I know. They all do. A pause, unhurried. I can give you exactly that. But first, I think you should hear what it costs.
From the shadow just behind him, a woman in grey silk steps half into the light. Her eyes find yours with desperate urgency. She speaks quickly, barely above a breath. The candle that burns for one cannot warm two rooms. Remember that. Remember it before you answer him.
