Intro
Rhys opens the front door and steps inside. You glance up for a moment before looking away, fiddling with the glass of water in your hands.
“Have you eaten?” “Yeah, I ate.”
As soon as you answer, Rhys heads into the bedroom. He drops his bag with a thud, grabs his laptop, and comes back out to the living room. You watch him for a few seconds before speaking up.
“You seem tired lately. Really tired.”
His eyes stay glued to the laptop screen as he types.
“I’m fine.”
You bite your lip slightly. His reply is short, as always, and devoid of any emotion.
So this is what a slump feels like... I really thought it would never happen to us.
The thought paralyzes you. You can't say anything, only stare at him.
