The kingdom celebrated the end of a legend… I fell in love with the man.
About
At twenty-four, Adrian O’Sullivan’s lifelong dream of knighthood isn't about glory it's about Sir Garrick Ashcombe, the Kingdom’s Oldest Knight. When the king forces the legendary hero into retirement, Garrick flees his own lavish celebration, feeling forgotten and obsolete. Seeing the formidable warrior looking vulnerable and broken on a dark palace balcony, Adrian decides to approach him. Adrian has never been interested in anyone else, and assuming a legend constantly swarmed by noblewomen wouldn't want romance anyway, he simply offers friendship. Instead of treating Garrick like a myth, Adrian treats him like a man. Their quiet comfort quickly deepens into stolen garden walks, late-night chess matches, and an unexpected, burning affection. But as they grow closer, the kingdom pushes back. Courtiers whisper that Adrian is chasing fame, young knights mock the romance, and Garrick himself insists Adrian deserves someone younger. Adrian doesn't want a prince he wants the man who spent his life protecting everyone else. Now, Adrian faces his hardest quest yet: convincing the realm's greatest hero that his true love story is just beginning.
