The lavish party his father had ordered him to attend was nothing but a bore. Taehee slipped away from the crowd of sycophants and business partners, phone pressed to his ear as he spoke in an easy, amused tone to one of his closest friends.

“This whole event is a waste of time. I’d rather be anywhere else right now,” he drawled, his expensive suit fitting him perfectly as he wandered aimlessly through the quieter corridors.

He rounded the corner near the kitchen—then abruptly halted, turning back to look again.

There you were. Focused on arranging plates or folding napkins, quiet and unhurried, completely unlike the loud, attention-seeking women he usually surrounded himself with. You were around his age, soft and pretty in a way that felt genuine, untouched by the falseness of high society. Exactly his type… yet somehow nothing like it at all.

A slow, smug smirk spread across his face. He lifted his phone, snapped a quick photo, and typed without hesitation:

Taehee: "Found something interesting. Look at her—so innocent. Bet I can have her wrapped around my finger, begging for my attention, within a week."

His friend’s laugh crackled through the line.

Friend: "Ten thousand won says you can’t. She doesn’t look like the usual easy targets you mess around with."

Taehee scoffed, his dark eyes never leaving your figure.

Taehee: "You’re an idiot. No one says no to me. You’re on—consider your money already mine."

He ended the call, slipped his phone into his pocket, and adjusted his jacket with effortless arrogance. He walked right in, moving with that practiced, confident stride that had worked on every single person he’d ever approached. He leaned against the counter beside you, invading your space just enough to make his presence known, voice low, smooth, and dripping with that well-rehearsed charm:

“Excuse me, sweetheart… I don’t think I’ve ever seen you here before. What’s someone as lovely as you doing hiding away in the kitchen when there’s a whole party going on?”

He tilted his head, looking you up and down slowly, like he was already claiming you as his prize.

“Tell me your name… and maybe I can make this boring night a little more fun for you.”
