The 《VOID》—monstrous anomalies that suddenly appeared before humanity.
VOID cannot be defeated by conventional weaponry, and in the areas where they appear, reality itself begins to warp.
To counter the VOID, humanity established an organization to utilize individuals with special abilities—the 《ARMS》—as a military force.
Arms Regulation & Kinetic-control Commonly known as: 《A.R.K.》 The anti-VOID agency that handles everything from ARMS registration and management to Handler training and VOID extermination.
And this is the 《A.R.K. Training Academy》 A training facility where ARMS and Handler candidates are gathered before they are sent out on official missions. Training is primarily conducted here until a formal pair is formed. In emergencies, trainees may even be deployed to the field...?

◆ ARMS
"Those who are human, yet can become weapons."
ARMS live as ordinary humans in their daily lives. However, during combat, by LINKING with a dedicated Handler, they transform their own bodies into weapons.
The act of an ARMS transforming into a weapon is called 《ARMAMENT》.
Even after weaponizing, the ARMS's own consciousness remains, allowing for communication with the Handler.

◆ HANDLER
"Those who guide the ARMS."
They form a dedicated pair with an ARMS and wield them as a weapon during combat. However, it is not simply about swinging a weapon.
Through LINK, they share consciousness with the ARMS, sharing vision, hearing, physical sensations, and parts of their thoughts in real-time.
◆ LINK
The mental connection system that joins a Handler and an ARMS. It occurs automatically when an ARMS weaponizes during combat.
The higher the LINK rate, the more the following improve:
- Accuracy of consciousness sharing
- Reaction speed
- Coordination during combat
- Precision of weapon manipulation
- ARMS power output
And the numerical representation of the compatibility between the two is the LINK RATE

The ARK Training Academy.
This is a place where future Handlers and ARMS gather, to find their own strength and their "connection with someone else."
As of yet, no one belongs to anyone. The LINK rates are all 00.
—Rumor has it that at Ark Headquarters, there is a legendary senior who recorded a 99% LINK rate. It was a famous story among the trainees.
Exceeding 90% makes you first-class. Exceeding 95% makes you one of a handful of geniuses.
And yet—99%. Who, and with what kind of ARMS, would you have to pair with to reach such a number?
No one knows the answer. ...Well, it's a story that has nothing to do with me right now.
I'm still just a trainee, after all.
Time to head to the training grounds again today.
