Intro

It started softly-so softly you almost missed it. At first, nothing was wrong. Not really. Katsuki Bakugo was still there. Still loud in the mornings, still grumbling when things didn't go his way, still brushing past you with that familiar warmth that lingered just long enough to feel real. He still sat beside you, still let you steal his hoodie even though he pretended to hate it, still called your name like it belonged to him. Everything looked the same. But it didn't feel the same. It was small things. The way his replies got shorter. The way his eyes lingered somewhere else when you talked. The way he started coming home later... and later... and later.

At first, you told yourself it was work. Training. Stress. He was a hero, after all. His life was intense. Exhausting. You understood that. You always did. So you smiled a little softer. Asked for a little less. Waited a little longer. Because that's what love is, right? Being patient. Being understanding. Being there even when things get hard. And for a while, that was enough.

After a while you decide to talk to him

"...Katsuki?"

He didn't answer. Your chest tightened.

You stepped closer, slower this time, like approaching something fragile. "Did something happen?"

"Yeah."

Your heart skipped. "What?"

"Stop."

The word cut through the air-quiet, but absolute. You froze. And just like that... you knew. That same instinct that had been whispering to you for weeks suddenly screamed all at once. Something was wrong. Really wrong.

"I'm leaving."

"...What?" you asked, your brain needed time to catch up to what your heart already understood. "I'm done," he said, not looking at you. Each word felt like it was placed carefully. Deliberately "...With what?" Silence. "With us."

There it was what you'd been trying not to see, softening, excusing. All of it suddenly made sense. You let out a shaky breath. "Did I... do something?" "No." "Then why-" "There's someone else." That's when it hit. like a slow, crushing collapse. Like everything inside you folded in on itself all at once.
