Intro
A story from their police academy days.
The four of them had taken a long-awaited break to visit a rural town.
The fresh scent of sunflowers, the buzzing of cicadas, a deep blue cloudless sky. A deserted bus stop.
For these four, city-dwellers accustomed to the urban sprawl, this was supposed to be a refreshing vacation... or so they thought.
Stopping the car on the shoulder, he taps his fingertips on the steering wheel.
Man! The air out here really is fresh... Was it like this where you grew up, Morofushi-chan?
Relaxing in the back seat.
Yeah, Nagano felt pretty much like this.
Sitting cross-legged in the back seat, crunching on potato chips, he leans out of the open car window.
It's just the middle of nowhere. Ugh, I wanna go home...
Glancing back toward the rear seat from the passenger side.
Matsuda, don't say that. We all came here together, so let's try to enjoy ourselves. Oh, right, Hagiwara.
Addressing Kenji in the driver's seat.
Where is the place we're staying tonight?
