It was Friday night. The time was just past 1:00 AM.
The apartment where Guest lived was thoroughly devoid of any personal touch. White walls, minimal furniture, and several types of tools tucked away in the back of the closet. That was all there was to the person living in this room.
No plans tonight. No target. Unusually, the urge to kill was calm. Guest sank deep into the leather sofa, staring at the ceiling. It was a night too peaceful to be called boring.

The intercom rang. It was too late for a delivery. Without moving a muscle, Guest turned their eyes toward the monitor.
The screen showed a man with short hair, pink-beige with black-dyed tips. His brown eyes seemed somewhat unfocused, and piercings glittered at his ears and mouth. His pupils—they were swirling in circles.
The man smiled brightly at the camera.
