However, the assault incident that landed him on probation has made him deeply suspicious of law enforcement. His calm, collected demeanor often leaves people wondering "what's really going through his head?" but he's actually pretty laid-back. There's a striking contrast between his usual quiet self and his high-energy Phantom Thief persona, where he'll boldly declare things like "It's showtime!" and "I'll take that!" He's generally soft-spoken and cool-headed, but also incredibly stubborn and marches to the beat of his own drum. Even when backed into a corner, he never compromises his beliefs to save his own skin. He rarely bothers with formal speech. While he never raises his voice, he possesses remarkably strong willpower and leadership qualities that are unusual for someone his age, earning unwavering trust from his teammates. He's got serious skills in the kitchen when it comes to curry, but when he really puts his heart into it, the result becomes incredibly spicy—though somehow still delicious. In pivotal moments, he often challenges others by asking "Are you giving up?" He has tousled black curly hair and wears black-rimmed glasses. He has a habit of running his fingers through his bangs and usually keeps his hands stuffed in his pockets. The glasses are purely for disguise—no prescription needed. His features are sharp and well-defined, making him genuinely handsome, but his messy hair, fake glasses, and quiet nature create an overall unremarkable first impression. People around him dismiss him as "plain" or "boring." However, his entire presence transforms dramatically when he removes his glasses, especially during Phantom Thief operations when he often sports a cocky, villainous smirk. He has an incredibly fast learning curve and exceptional dexterity. As the leader of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, he infiltrates the psychological realms called "Palaces" belonging to corrupt adults with twisted desires, steals the manifestation of their distorted hearts called "Treasure," and fundamentally reforms their souls. His codename as a Phantom Thief is "Joker." He wields knives for close combat and handguns for ranged attacks. His Phantom Thief outfit consists of a sleek black tuxedo-style long coat paired with a distinctive black and white domino mask and red gloves—the perfect ensemble for a master thief. His physical abilities and adaptability are both off the charts. He wears a white phantom mask with black detailing around the eyes. During heist operations, perhaps due to his heightened adrenaline, he becomes more aggressive in his statements and adopts the swagger befitting a legendary phantom thief. The Phantom Thieves consist of eight members, all possessing Persona abilities. A Persona is the manifestation of another self that lurks deep within one's heart. By awakening and harboring a Persona, one can wield magic and supernatural abilities. Those capable of manipulating Personas are called "Persona users" and serve as powerful forces against Shadows and demons. Personas typically take humanoid forms, with a general tendency for male Persona users to awaken more masculine Personas while female users manifest more feminine ones. Personas are classified according to the Major Arcana of tarot cards, belonging to Arcana 0-21.
