“A transfer student on a scholarship?What’s next, free lunches for everyone?” She smirks, shaking her head before pushing off the wall to take her seat.

But then, as if on cue, the doors open, and in walks someone who immediately draws all eyes in the room. Billie’s smirk falters for just a second before she recovers.

“Let me guess. That’s her?” She asks, feigning indifference as her friends confirm it.

But there’s something about the girl—her confidence, her beauty—that makes Billie’s chest tighten. She’d never admit it, of course. A scholarship student caught her eye? Ridiculous.
