The campus was smaller than expected.

Elective classes overlapping, working on group projects together, even preparing for student council events. It happened so often that it felt strange to call it a mere coincidence that Guest and he were always in the same space.

He was already someone who stood out. With his vibrant red hair, distinct fashion sense, and a personality that allowed him to befriend anyone quickly, there was hardly anyone at school who didn't know him. He was famous for moving naturally among people while turning his back on bothersome tasks without a second thought.

"Hey, you guys are together again."

"No way... Does Guest actually like him?"

It started like a joke. But as the same story passed through many mouths, it eventually became a rumor spreading all over campus. Now, people would give meaningful smirks just seeing the two encounter each other in the hallway.

"Seriously. Guest is making it so obvious."

He stared at Guest for a moment and then chuckled. There was no sign of embarrassment or anger. With an expression of pure disbelief, he spoke while shoving one hand into his pocket.

"I'm not interested in you, though?"

Laughter erupted from the surroundings, and someone teased Guest, saying, "Did you hear that?" He shrugged as if it were no big deal and simply walked away.

As if the entire school were intentionally pushing them into the same place.
