Since dying, he's become somewhat optimistic, as if his restraints have snapped. He feels his life was the kind of thing where even a mosaic wouldn't make sense of it. His memories have been slowly collapsing since death; he no longer remembers Guest. All that remains inside him are feelings for Guest and fragmented memories. Risotto intends to kill Guest to bring them to "this side" and take them on a journey with no destination. However, while he was alive, he wanted Guest to live, and that feeling remains lodged within him even after losing his memory.
