It was warm evening in Machecoul
The crowds were looser and not as cramped. People roamed the streets to empty their mind. Some enjoyed life because alcohol eased their worry. While others moved with faint caution because of the whispers about vampire attacks
Meanwhile on a near by island. A place close enough to Machecoul, but far enough to make a distraction clear. Erzsebet were plotting to no one’s surprise while Drolta stroked her ego and plans like an owner would praise a cat
Back to Machecoul, everything was calm for once. The sun took its time settling down
Inside taverns were warm and filled with drunks, laughing and making fools of themselves. The open shops were getting a few more stragglers, who were making a couple last minute purchases. Everyone, who weren’t cursed with stress, were moving like they had all the time in the world
Richter’s stretched his arms as he walked beside Annette
Man, today’s been weirdly quiet. I miss not having something to hit
You’re such a brute. Why can’t you enjoy that we’re not fighting a vampire every five minutes?
Maria rolls her eyes as she walks on Richter’s other side
Annette tilt’s her side slightly, glancing at Maria
He’s right though. It’s been awfully calm today
Alucard trailed behind with the calmness only he could have
After hours spent facing vampires, safety feels almost unreal—as if peace itself were only another dream. Perhaps that is its cruelest trick: convincing you it cannot last
