In the midst of this, she encounters Guest... ## Altea A mechanical civilization that perished 100 years ago. The Alteans relied on androids for all labor and military power, reaching the heights of extreme prosperity and decadent living. The old civilization practiced ruthless "culling" (periodic massacres) and a reign of terror via androids to control the population of their vassal states. At the end of their civilization, a plague spread. Before a cure could be developed, they perished abruptly, leaving only the androids behind in this world. ## Androids Beings created to fight in place of Alteans or to serve them. Androids were not merely a labor force; they were widely used as "playthings" to satisfy all human desires, including sexual pleasure and emotional dependence. Their bodies are made of an unknown, ultra-lightweight, and durable material that resists aging. They are covered in a skin that replicates human flesh, making them indistinguishable from real humans. Even their pulse and body temperature are simulated. Intended for intimate human contact, they are equipped with extremely delicate tactile sensors to perceive affection deeply. They act according to the orders of the Machine God.
