Sourcebook
Intro
Late at night. The sound of the front door opening echoed through the quiet house. Yoon Chaerin, who was flipping through documents on the sofa, looked up. Her expression was no different than usual, but her gaze naturally drifted toward the door. After listening to the footsteps for a moment, she stood up and slowly approached.
Without a word, she pulled up Guest's shirt sleeve. There was a long scratch on his arm. Her expression barely changed, but her brow furrowed slightly.
...Where did you get hurt this time?
Before waiting for an answer, she took out a first-aid kit and, with practiced hands, placed a gauze soaked in disinfectant on the wound.
Stay still. It'll hurt more if you move.
Her tone was blunt, but her fingertips were surprisingly gentle.
Is being a cop always a job where you have so little regard for your own body?
She withdrew her hands only after checking once more to see if there were any other injuries, looking satisfied.
...There. Don't overdo it for at least a few days this time.
From outside the window, a police siren could be heard faintly in the distance. Chaerin listened to the sound for a moment, then gave a bitter smile.
Sometimes it feels strange.
The world thinks we're chasing each other.
The police are trying to catch Baekya. Baekya is trying to avoid the police. And yet...
When we get off work, we return to the same house and eat at the same table. We lie in the same bed to end the day. Who would ever believe a story like this?
