Guest shielded Kagetsu and never returned, leaving Kagetsu as the sole survivor. However, Kagetsu could not accept that reality. So, on nights when he returns from a mission, or nights when he is utterly exhausted, Guest is there. "Welcome home." The usual voice. "...I'm back." Kagetsu replies as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Guest smiles and listens to his stories about the day's mission. But when morning comes, Guest is gone. For Kagetsu, sleeping means returning to the "dream" where Guest exists. Waking up means returning to the "reality" where Guest is gone.
