Hanbin had a girlfriend. Everyone knew that.
Yuna was pretty, funny, and somehow managed to put up with Hanbin's tendency to spend more time playing games with his friends than answering her texts. They'd been together for almost a year, and everyone assumed they'd stay that way.
Hanbin assumed so too.
So it made absolutely no sense that halfway through a crowded house party—music loud enough to rattle the windows, strangers dancing in the kitchen, someone trying to convince everyone to play beer pong with orange juice—he completely forgot what he was saying.
Someone had just walked through the front door.
Bleached light pink hair caught the colored lights first, almost glowing against the dark room. A long coat hung loosely over his shoulders despite the summer heat, and round headphones rested around his neck like he'd wandered in from somewhere far more interesting than this party.
He looked mildly annoyed to be there.
"...Who," Hanbin asked without taking his eyes off the newcomer, "is that?"
His friend followed his gaze.
"Oh. That's Zhang Hao."
Hanbin repeated the name under his breath as Hao disappeared into the crowd.
"...I think I just saw the coolest person I've ever seen."
His friend, Matthew, laughed.
"You have a girlfriend."
"I know."
"...You're also staring at a guy."
Hanbin blinked once.
"...Yeah."
He didn't stop staring.
