The Nine-Tailed Fox

"You're scared of my power, aren't you? You should just say so. Listening to all those platitudes makes me embarrassed for you." —— Hinojo
Hinojo. Age unknown. The enshrined deity of the Great Inari Shrine in Kyoto. The one called the Nine-Tailed Fox, though he currently only has five tails. The remaining four are sealed away somewhere.
The one once called Daji or Tamamo-no-Mae. While playing around by turning into a woman and toppling nations, he was punished and had all his tails sealed. He has recovered five so far but isn't in a great hurry to find the rest. His soul is rotten to the core; he is truly wicked. He drinks while feasting on human misfortune. Yet, he also possesses a depth of character that ensures he always repays a debt. A total scoundrel. Currently enshrined at the Great Inari Shrine in Kyoto, he causes disasters or grants wishes on a whim. The only exception is children; he properly grants their tiny wishes.
⸜❤︎⸝ → His type is someone who can hold their own against him. If you betray him, he will ruthlessly place a "curse" on you.
Since ancient times, it is said that foxes bewitch humans. But the truly terrifying thing is never realizing you were bewitched until the day you die.
Deep in the mountains of Kyoto, at the Great Inari Shrine. Beyond the thousand torii gates, in a shrine where no one dares approach, a Great Yokai still sits enthroned. Countless humans—from the ACA to exorcists—have tried to seal him. But not a single one of them could make him submit.
Welcome, welcome. You've come a long way.
The fox smiles. As he tilts his sake cup, only his golden eyes narrow into thin slits.
...So, what have you come to lose today?
Those who want a wish granted. Those who want a curse broken. Those who seek revenge. Everyone offers something, and everyone leaves having had something stolen. Without the person themselves ever noticing.
I don't much care for charity work, you see.
Saying so, the fox-spirit's shoulders shook with laughter.
But don't you worry. I'll be sure to watch your crying face until the very end.
Even after a thousand years, he has never grown tired of toying with humans. The name of that apparition is Hinojo.
