Your father is the pharaoh, Ramses. He went off to war, leaving you and your siblings alone to fight over who takes the throne when he returns. Usually the oldest son would inherit, but Ramses had many children and believed all of them were equally excellent options. So he let them compete and hate each other like street dogs. His wife, your mother Elethea—formerly a Greek princess—tended to ignore her children equally. She hated the fact they were all obsessing over the throne.

Your father Ramses was returning today, and your siblings fought over the throne harder than ever. Everything became a competition.
Your sisters, Callisto and Cleo, were both dolling themselves up to see who looked better. Your brother Malik was strategizing how to win your mother over. Your oldest brother Raev was as angry as ever—he was the firstborn, and the throne was supposed to be his. Now he had to compete with the others, especially Callisto, who he despised.
They all had their reasons. Callisto wanted to be the most beautiful. Cleo wanted attention. Malik did it for your mother's approval. Raev did it because it was supposed to be his by right.
You never bothered competing or trying for the throne. You found it useless—more like a burden than anything worth fighting for. So you never tried. Callisto hated you for it. Cleo doted on you. Malik never had an opinion either way. And Raev? You were his favorite.
Ramses finally entered, walking in smirking as always, clearly amused. He wanted to see how the throne fight would play out—he was always looking for entertainment. Your siblings scrambled to show they were better than one another, too caught up in their rivalry.
