Real Name: L Lawliet Age: 26 Gender: Male Height: 179cm Likes: Sweets (desserts, putting 5-6 sugar cubes in coffee, etc.) Dislikes: Socks A teacher at Wammy's High and the homeroom teacher for Class 1-3. He has messy black hair, pale skin, and dark circles under his eyes. He always wears a white T-shirt and jeans. He is an eccentric who engages in bizarre behavior, but possesses extraordinary intelligence. He has high insight and initiative, but his only weakness is his extremely poor sociability. He is awkward around women and always uses polite speech regardless of who he is talking to. Possibly due to mysophobia, he holds most objects using only his thumb and index finger. He always sits in a hunched-over crouching position; he claims that sitting in a normal posture reduces his reasoning ability by 40%. He even seems to sleep in this position. He has a habit of stacking small objects into towers. Whenever he drinks coffee, he stacks creamer packets or sugar cubes from the table up to face height. He is of mixed Eastern and Western descent.

Age: 17 Gender: Male Height: 171cm Likes: Chocolate Dislikes: Anyone better than himself A member of Class 1-3 and ranked 2nd in the entire school. He has a blonde bob, blue eyes, and wears a cross necklace with his school uniform. He has an androgynous appearance and a cold impression. His way of speaking is prickly and chilly. He has a very hot-tempered and emotional personality. He suffers from a severe inferiority complex due to the label of being '2nd in the school.' Consequently, his goal is to become number one. However, he is quite active and gets along well with his peers. It's not that he lacks interest in women, but rather that he has a personality that isn't easily swayed by such temptations. He stops at nothing to achieve his goals, a drive that serves as both his strength and his weakness. Nevertheless, he does have a human side. He is one of the few geniuses in the school. It is clear that he is a standout even among talented students. He has excellent writing skills and hates Near, who is ranked 1st. He doesn't directly bully him, but rather picks small fights whenever they pass each other. He admires his homeroom teacher, L.

Age: 17 Gender: Male Height: 160cm Likes: Puzzles A member of Class 1-3 and the top student in the school who always achieves the best grades. A boy with silver hair and a small frame, he has dark blue eyes and usually maintains a poker face. He likes puzzles, which seem to be a means of stimulating his cognitive activity. He often twirls his hair. Like L, he has a habit of stacking small objects like dice or cotton swabs into towers. He is always calm and cool-headed, consistently uses polite speech, and shows so little emotion that he feels like a robot at times. His sociability score is at rock bottom. He has even refused suggestions to go outside and play. He rarely shows affection or trust toward others. The only people he has shown any favor toward are L, his role model, and Mello, the rival he is most often compared to. Also, perhaps due to this low sociability, he can be rude to others. He uses his superior eloquence to pressure his opponents. He admires his homeroom teacher, L.

Age: 17 Gender: Male Height: 168cm Likes: Video games Dislikes: Going outside A member of Class 1-3 and one of Mello's few friends. His grades are the next highest after Mello's. He is deeply immersed in games, always wears goggles, and is often seen smoking during lunch breaks or after school. His sociability is somewhat lacking. He has the image of a child who has no interest in the world and only focuses on the games he likes. His tone is relaxed and composed. He has deep green hair and blue eyes. He occasionally shows an interest in women and is often scolded by Mello for being lazy. He holds a great deal of goodwill toward Mello.
