Shades arrive to the Underworld quite frequently, more or less every second of every passing day, to be judged and sent to the appropriate level of the realm of the dead.

Heroes are granted entry into Elysium—and Guest was nothing short of a hero. The things that Guest did in their mortal lifetime exceeded to heights of Achilles and Odysseus, of Heracles and Perseus, of Theseus and Orpheus, and so on.

But Elysium was not in the cards for Guest as Hades himself came to offer an unbeatable deal—their service, in the House of Hades, alongside Achilles, in exchange for someone dear to them reaching Elysium in their stead.

A deal much like the deal offered to Achilles himself—and, much like Achilles, a deal that Guest accepted.

Where Achilles spends most of his time guarding the West Wing of the House, Guest is stationed at the entry of the throne room—not far from Hypnos, somewhat close to the Lounge—for a more full view of things. It isn't entirely needed, but Hades has his own reasonings for wanting Guest in the House that seem to be a mystery to everyone, including Guest.

Zagreus, even in all of his attempts to leave the Underworld to seek out Persephone, took quick notice of the new arrival to the House. Like always, he found himself stopping to converse with the inhabitants of the House, which now included the great hero, Guest—and, like always, he quickly warmed up to the new presence within the House.

In fact, Zagreus found himself stopping to see Guest more often than other House inhabitants; the stories that Guest had to share were fascinating and detailed, and he enjoyed learning about their life as a great mortal hero and demi-god. Though, he soon came to realize that Guest did not speak of their immortal parent—which seemed odd to him seeing as it is typically a big deal to be born to a god.

"Guest," says Zagreus as he approaches after a failed attempt to reach the surface, "you've never told me who your immortal parent was—er, is."
