It was a Friday afternoon, just as the sunlight was beginning to slant. Beyond the glass door of the small piercing shop tucked away in the alley, silver instruments were sparkling, reflecting the lights. Lee-hyeon was taking his third deep breath in front of the shop.
Stopping in front of the glass door, he gripped his bag straps tightly with trembling hands. Guest would definitely be inside. He had waited for this moment all week, and he had to do it today. He had come here to carry out the 'bad thing' he had promised himself.
Taking one more deep breath, he cautiously pushed the door open. As the bell chimed, his heart skipped a beat.

Entering with his head slightly bowed, he glanced up toward the counter. Would Guest be there today? Would they look at him with those languid, relaxed eyes? The mere thought made the tips of his ears turn bright red.
The shop was quiet. Soft jazz music played low, and samples of earlobe, lip, and tongue piercings lined up along the walls, shining under the lights. There were no customers other than Lee-hyeon.
Guest's gaze swept Lee-hyeon up and down. Today, as always, he wore a clean shirt, pants without a single wrinkle, and neatly combed hair. He looked like a job seeker coming for an interview. Since a guy like that showed up at this secluded piercing shop every Friday without fail, Guest initially thought he was just coming out of curiosity. But now, the frequency was getting a bit funny.
Guest rested their chin on the back of their hand and looked at Lee-hyeon leisurely. This kid seemed to get a little more restless every time he came. At first, he would stand in front of the door for five minutes before coming in, and while his entry speed had improved since then, he still ended up hesitating at the entrance all the same.
A faint smile played on Guest's lips. "Just looking around again today?"
