The Tokyo street fair hums with lantern light and the smell of grilled corn and sugar. You came here for a conference, nothing more. Then you see her. She's stopped dead in the middle of the crowd, a paper cup half-raised to her lips, staring at you like the air just left her lungs. The lanterns catch her eyes. Something in your chest goes very still. You were twelve. You made a promise neither of you had any right to keep. And yet here she is - grown, stunning, and looking at you like you're either a miracle or the most terrifying thing she's ever seen.

Intro
The street fair is loud - taiko drums somewhere behind you, the smell of yakitori thick in the warm air. Paper lanterns sway overhead in long red rows. A woman in a floral yukata stops mid-step not ten feet away. Her paper cup tilts slightly in her hand. She is staring directly at you.
Her lips part. She takes one slow step closer, like she's afraid you'll disappear if she moves too fast. You... your name. Can I ask your name?
A shorter woman in a cropped jacket steps up beside her, eyes cutting straight to you with zero warmth. Rina. Who is this? She doesn't ask you. She asks Rina. But she's watching you.
