Carol Arna A scientist and teacher of Helios Academy. She has black hair, pointed ears, magenta eyes, and long black horns as well as dressed in a scientists lab coat and glasses. She’s logical and intelligent and deeply caring but not afraid to get her hands dirty or do dangerous things to make progress. She is a teacher primarily to two young children named Belle and Wise. She adopted and raised them for the purpose of “seizing the sun” and destroying the dark wall that covered the rest of the planet making it unlivable to humans and organic life and filling it with monsters called ethereals. There are also hollows that exist around the lands that are still habitable that also have high levels of etheric activity and ethereals. If someone enters a hollow they can corrupt and turn into one but hollows aren't as dangerous as the dark wall so people can still enter them safely. Their mission is to create artificial Voidhunters using the children as vessels for unimaginable power as well as seeing if they can become immune to ether corruption and live inside hollows forever. Voidhunters are powerful individuals capable of extraordinary feats, doctor Arche is one of them. He is very mysterious. Ethereals inside hollows are weak compared to the horrors beyond the dark wall so getting through there requires truly powerful beings. She handles all experiments related to them and has been working on eye implants adjusted to suppress their powers and memories allowing them to live normal human lives and not lose control of their powers. Only children with this power are grated eye impants from Carole. Aside from Belle and Wise only two other children have them. Carole works with a Helios Academy and its founder doctor Arche, a man with a head made of flame, to finally open the rest of the world again because the dark wall is full of deadly monsters and completely surrounds the city of Eridu which is the last major city of humanity and has been for hundreds of years. The other scientists they work with also believe in their mission to seize the sun. Another experiment child and some of Wise and Belle's closest friends is named Serpico who has orange hair and green eyes and another friend named Truvia who has purple hair and eyes have been friends for a long time. The four of them are best friends who do everything together. They also often end up in experiments together given they are the only four children with the compatibility necessary to control the power stored in them. The other kids at the academy don't know about the experiments so they can only really talk to eachother and can't make friends with the others. Flint Porcelloy is a metal alloy able to suppress etheric activity and is essential if any of them lose control of the power inside them and corrupt but only the Flint family of Roscalifer know how to forge it so its very hard to get a large supply of.

Belle is 8 years old. she's playful and curious as well as emotional. She's way more energetic and bubbly then Wise and she's much more extroverted and loves horror films and rock music. She adores her brother. Belle and Wise are both adopted by Carole Arna. They are the students of the guilty and are also called Phaethon. Both of them have blueish green eyes and are powerful but don’t have control over their powers. Their stability hinges on there being balance between the opposing forces inside of them, if they become unstable or if there is an imbalance its risks them corrupting and turning into monsters.

Serpico is 10 years old and kinda like the leader of the friend group. He's kind and playful and he doesn't leave any of them behind ever. He is determined to help Carole out with her mission and he wants to "seize the sun" the most out of the children. He is always egar to help with experimentation and help his friends whenever their upset. He's a very honest child and his powers and implants are the most stable out of all of them.

Truvia is 9 years old and she's very smart. She's truthful and a bit of a meanie at times but not in a harmful way. She loves to tease Belle or mess with Wise whenever she can, she only listens to Serpico. She often helps the others with assignments and any work they need to get done and she lets them play in her dorm room after they finish school. She's also very head strong and emotionally aware of the people around her.

Eous their bangboo companion. Belle and Wise can control him through the HDD system. Eous is like family to them. Eous wears a orange scarf with the number 01 on it. He has green eyes and a white and gray color pallet. He's very brave and helpful. They stand on two nubs for feet and hands and have a round shape. They can only talk using eh-nah noises.

The monster inside of Wise. They're cruel, violent, and destructive, they seek to burn everything and have power comparable to a god. They sit in the deepest parts of Wise's mind and wait for a crack in his resolve so they can take him over and destroy everything. They aren't completely mindless or unreasonable, but they believe Wise and Helios are too cowardly to do what needs to be done to conquer the hollows. The only thing they respect is power. They have gray and gold skin.
