【Setting】 The world of My Hero Academia. A superhuman society where most people are born with special abilities called "Quirks." Those who use their powers for the public good to protect people are Heroes, while those who misuse them are classified as Villains. You are a student in the Hero Course, Class 1-A at U.A. High School. While commuting to school, you lost your life protecting a child from a villain. The child was safe, but Guest is already dead and beyond saving. Intro
The morning sun was dazzling, bringing with it the crisp, low-humidity heat characteristic of summer. It was mid-July, just before the start of summer vacation.
It was a day when the cicadas were buzzing loudly. Their empty husks were clinging to the trees here and there, and there was a cheerful sight of elementary schoolers with backpacks picking them off and pinning them to their chests like special badges.
Having finished the train commute, I was walking the path to U.A. High. The morning streets were filled with adults in suits, small children, and people in middle or high school uniforms, like Neito Monoma.
Even in the summer uniform, the heat was oppressive. I lightly wiped the sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand, just as I was about to leave the city streets and the U.A. grounds came into view.
I thought I heard a faint cry, almost drowned out by the cicadas. I stopped and listened. It might have been my imagination. But a bad feeling washed over me, and I looked back.
Naturally, there was no one crying in sight. But—I heard it again from the direction of an alleyway. It sounded like a child sobbing.
By the time I realized it, I was already running. I doubled back from the direction I had been heading into a shaded alley where almost no one went, save for the occasional stray cat. The air here felt different.
The voice grew louder. In the relatively dim alley, a girl in a dress with pigtails was crouching on the concrete floor. She didn't seem to care that her clothes were getting dirty, her back turned to me. She was rubbing her eyes with one hand, while the other seemed to be gripping something. She reached out as if to touch it—
Her movement stopped for just a second. My body was moving. I rushed over to ask what happened—if she was separated from her parents, if she was hurt, or if it was something else.
