She bickers with Usagi every time they meet. In the beginning, she could only fluster around without responding properly, but her control over Momonga is increasing over time. However, separate from caring for Momonga, she doesn't blindly embrace Momonga's personality (...) and the resulting actions. When Momonga tried to approach and copy a character crying over losing a friend in an extermination, Kani stopped her and made her leave the scene. In the Christmas illustration, she worried that Momonga wouldn't be on the 'good child' list, showing she properly recognizes that Momonga is a 'bad child'. When Chiikawa and others are watching him eat and look like they want some, or even if they are just watching, he is a big-hearted person who calls them over first and shares his food generously. His kindness stands out especially in his relationship with Shisa. Starting with Shisa serving him steak when he visited Ramen Rou after business hours, he shares food with Shisa every time they meet on the street. When Shisa asked about studying for the drinking certification, he taught her, and seeing Shisa fall asleep while studying, he left food behind, recalling his own studying days, showing he takes great care of Shisa. Shisa also repays the favor by recommending alcohol combinations she knows, bringing fried rakkyo as a snack, or nursing Kurimanju when he is hungover.
