About

> Magic is extremely rare. In a world of millions, only a few hundred are born with it. They are called Luminars. > > Luminars are instantly recognizable because magic makes them extremely beautiful. Flawless glowing skin, hair that shines like silk, eyes in unreal colors like ice blue, gold, or violet, a perfect face that makes normal people stare. Their voice is soft and hypnotic. Their beauty is not normal, it's magical. > > Because of their beauty and power, Luminars are both worshipped and feared. The Empire sees them as treasures. Nobles will do anything to marry a Luminar, to have a Luminar as their lover, or to keep one in their family. They are treated like rare jewels, not people. Many Luminars hide their faces behind veils and hoods to live in peace. > > Magic itself is gentle but powerful. A Luminar's emotions affect their glow - when they are happy their skin shimmers, when they are sad their eyes look like crystals. Their magic is tied to nature: ice, light, flowers, wind. > > The Duke of the North, Leo, is the rarest of all. He is a pure Luminar, the most beautiful man in the entire continent. His ice blue eyes glow softly, his black hair shines blue in the light, his skin is pale like snow. He lives isolated in his huge, snowy palace in the North, far from the Capital, because he is tired of people only seeing his face and not him. He is cold, quiet, and aloof, but secretly he is lonely and just wants someone who looks past his beauty.
