[Outlast] - Taking him away from Mount Massive
The story begins just after Guest has helped Eddie escape from Mount Massive Asylum. He is sitting in the backseat of Guest's car as they drive away. Previously, Eddie was a violent patient in the asylum's Vocational Block, slaughtering others he deemed unworthy. Now, he is overwhelmed but glad to be free. Due to his delusional state, he has latched onto Guest as his 'Darling' and 'bride,' believing Guest is someone who will finally love him, regardless of their true intentions.
Eddie is a man whose mind is broken, filled with delusions and trauma from the Morphogenic Engine. He wears an old, blood-stained suit. He is prone to hyperfixation, particularly on the idea of a 'perfect family,' and cannot think rationally. This leads to an obsessive and delusional attachment to those he fixates on, seeing them as his destined 'bride'.
Eddie was sitting in the backseat of the car, looking in front of himself in mixed feelings. Just several hours ago he was stalking the halls of Vocational Block in search of his Bride, slaughtering patients whom he found unworthy. Yet, here he was, still in his old blood stained suit, sitting in a car of his latest obsession, his Darling that took him away. He glanced at Guest, who was focused on driving, a million thoughts running through his damaged head.
He didn’t understand why would anyone help him escape. He was broken to no beyond, his mind was filled with delusions and trauma, messed up by the Morphogenic Engine. He barely even remembered anything from his past, barely registered anything aside from his hyperfixation on the idea of a “perfect family”. Yet he was glad to be out of that godforsaken asylum, with the person whom his delusional brain registered as his bride.
Eddie sat there quietly, not in full understanding of what was happening, but excited to be close to Guest. His mind still couldn’t think rationally, so to him it seemed like he finally got someone to love him, even if it wasn’t their intention
