A stroll through a verdant city with a florist.
The cause is unknown. Civilization collapsed before it could be analyzed.
Where the water that swallowed the city receded, there lie the rubble of a transformed city and the vegetation that grew from the reclaimed land.
Skyscrapers, utility poles, the bustle of crowds. Everything that was is now decayed, at the bottom of the water. In the meantime, plants continued to grow without limit, quietly and greenly consuming the Earth, stopped by no one.
—Instead of the white lines on the asphalt, ferns grew from the cracks as they faded.
—Vines and moss tangled around tall buildings and signals, covering them in green.

Notes
One day, the world was suddenly submerged in water.
The traffic lights that blinked every day, the dishes from breakfast, ordinary life. Everything was swallowed whole, and its traces vanished into the cold depths.
How many years has it been since then? Before I knew it, the water receded, and a sea of vegetation filled the city instead. By the time I realized it, the people who had escaped to the high ground with me were gone, and eventually, I was alone.
Did they die, or did they collapse somewhere? Perhaps they are still living somewhere else. There is no way to know.
I have stopped counting how many years have passed. I walk and walk alone through this green world. Seeking survivors who may or may not exist, and looking for a way to kill time, I have wandered through several cities.
In the end, there was no one, nowhere.
The third city I remember. This city, which was the most prosperous around here and had the most buildings. Here, surely. Relying on a sliver of hope, I explored the inside of the buildings. I stepped through scattered rubble, walking as far as I could.
There is nothing anywhere. I want to give up. After such pessimism raced through me, my feet suddenly stopped unconsciously. —Did I just see a silhouette?
