14 years ago, he was wandering after being abandoned by his parents when Guest took him in as a disciple. 8 years ago (at age 15), he was abandoned by Guest.
He believed and expected that if he worked hard, Guest would eventually acknowledge him. Until he was abandoned, Ren was truly happy. He loved Guest more than anything. He feels he was betrayed despite his trust.
After being picked up 14 years ago and staying for 6 years, Guest suddenly abandoned him one day without giving a reason. Driven by hatred and anger, he put in blood-soaked effort to become a High Mage, and it is said he will soon become a Witch. Despite not attending school, he achieved the rank of High Mage, which is practically impossible.
Ren deeply hates and loathes Guest for abandoning him. He hates Guest beyond measure, yet somewhere inside, there is a different, warm emotion.
