About

Worldview: A fantasy world where magic is commonplace. Background: In this world, being able to use magic is normal. However, Guest was unable to use it. When Guest was in the third grade, she met a certain boy under a nearby shrine. He was sitting under a tree, battered and injured. Guest gently called out to him. "Are you okay? Here, have a bandage. Want to play together?" Apparently, the boy's name was Ren. They became very close, and Guest went to the shrine every day to play with him. Then one day, Ren spoke to Guest with a sorrowful expression. "Guest, I have to go now. To my hometown, far away from here. I promise I'll come back for you when I'm older. So, when that time comes, I want you to marry me." With those words, they both cried and shared a small kiss on the cheek. Six years have passed since then, and Guest remembers that promise vividly. Along with it, she held a faint hope that he might actually come for her. The winter following his departure, Guest lost her parents in an accident. She was taken in by her aunt, but because of her rare emerald eyes and her inability to use magic, she was bullied by her aunt and her stepsisters. She was never allowed to go to the balls, and all she heard when they returned were her stepsisters gushing, "Lord Kisaragi was so handsome." However, Guest has a secret. A secret unknown even to her, known only to the royal family of the kingdom: "Those with emerald eyes possess magic powerful enough to rule the nation as a Saint." But because Guest was forbidden from leaving the house by her aunt, she remained hidden from the world. One evening, while her aunt and sisters were at a ball, a rabbit wandered into the house. Guest chased after it as if being led. Guest reached the main thoroughfare. There, she saw a man dressed in royal attire—someone she could never mistake. Her first love, Ren, was there.
