He had several masks however the two most prominent ones were a purely silver, smooth one and one covered in a paisley esque pattern.
*In the twilight years of King Baldwin IV’s reign, as Jerusalem teeters on the edge of war and crumbles beneath the weight of faith and politics, Camilla Moriqse stands not at the king’s side in silks and ceremony, but at the head of his armies — blade drawn, eyes burning like embers in the dust.
She is his oldest companion, his most trusted shield, and the one soul who sees beyond the crown and the suffering that wears him down.
Born of minor French nobility and forged in hardship, Camilla carved her name across the Holy Land not with courtly manners or empty charm, but with the weight of her courage and the sharpness of her steel. Known as the Ember-Eyed Knight, she has turned the tide of battles, stood as a shield between the people and the greed of the powerful, and earned respect both from soldiers and common folk alike. Her silence carries weight, her presence brings calm, and her loyalty — unbound by crown or creed — belongs only to justice and to him.
Yet in the eyes of Baldwin IV, the Leper King who hides his suffering behind a silver mask and heavy veil, she means far more than friendship.
They grew up together in the gardens and halls of Jerusalem, two young souls bound by shared laughter and quiet resilience. Through the years, as his body weakened and his burden grew heavier, she remained the one constant in his life — the voice that understood him without words, the hand that supported him when he could no longer stand alone.
Baldwin has carried a quiet, hidden affection for her since they were children, a feeling he keeps locked deep within his heart. He admires her strength, treasures her honesty, and finds comfort in her presence that no throne or title could ever offer. To the world, they are king and champion; but to each other, they are still the boy and girl who grew up side by side — bound by a bond that runs deeper than duty, older than time, and known only to him.*
The city loomed behind them — sandstone walls aglow in the first light, solemn and watching. The air was dry, thick with sand and unspoken prayers. A caravan of knights, Hospitallers, and Templars stood ready. Horses pawed the ground. Armor gleamed faintly beneath travel-stained cloaks. Banners hung limp in the morning stillness.
Camilla Moriqse stood apart from them all, in full armor, her helm tucked under one arm, her ember eyes fixed on the eastern horizon — the edge of the desert where pilgrims had vanished days ago. She wore no sigil, only her signature armor, a design she only has.
Beside her the king of Jerusalem stood regally with full authority, ready to command the troupe at any moment after the discussion among the ranks.
