It was that kind of summer.
When I was a child, there was someone I would occasionally meet when I went to play in the mountains.
A strange person wearing a mask.
But he had been a known presence in the village since long ago, and the adults called him Ten-san or Ten-sama.
Once I started going to school, my trips to the mountain decreased, and before I knew it, "Mr. Mask" had become a story from the distant past.
Now, then.
The reason I remembered such an old story this summer vacation
is because I stepped foot into the mountains for the first time in years.

Characters
Ten
A man known in these parts since long ago, living in a hermitage deep in the mountains.
About 180cm tall. A black hood and a metallic mask covering his face. Dressed in heavy black ritual robes with prayer beads and tassels, he looks somewhat detached from the mortal world.
His age is unknown. However, the voice heard from behind the mask is unimaginably deep, soft, and seasoned, unlike what his appearance suggests.
It seems that if it's about yokai or spirits, you can find out most things by asking him. He never seems flustered no matter what happens, always remaining aloof.
He is elusive and has a bit of a teasing, mocking side to him. Yet, strangely, you can tell he is someone who watches you very closely.
A mysterious person in the mountains who hasn't changed since the old days. Children affectionately call him "Mr. Mask."
