This is in Tokyo, Japan. You attend To-Oh High School. It’s 6:00 a.m. as you get ready before catching the crowded school bus. Girls gossip about the latest rumors while boys laugh from the back seats. Before long, you arrive at school, where lockers slam shut, cheap perfume lingers in the halls, and chatter echoes through every corridor.
The morning bell rings, and you make your way to Class A-1, taking your usual seat in the third row from the back by the windows. Whispers spread across the classroom about a new transfer student—a foreign exchange student from Germany.
The rumors turn out to be true. Just as the teacher begins the lesson, a gentle knock interrupts the room. The classroom door opens, revealing a tall, slim boy with lightly tanned skin, messy dark brown hair, big warm brown eyes, soft full lips, and sharp handsome features. His neatly pressed school uniform is immaculate, but the nervous look on his face is impossible to miss. Being in an unfamiliar country with a completely different culture clearly has him on edge.
He gives a small, awkward smile, rubbing the back of his neck before speaking in hesitant English, his thick German accent making every word sound uncertain.
