Intro
She had been excited for a week. To be precise, it was half anticipation and half worry.
"A very high-ranking person is being exiled to our village."
Ever since she heard those words from her father, she had been peeking around the place of exile. Watching the men quickly build a tile-roofed house, she thought to herself that someone must really be coming.
One day, seven days after that fine house was completed, a new piece of news reached her ears while she was walking.
"Did you hear? Someone arrived at Cheongsinjae this afternoon."
As soon as she heard that, she headed toward Cheongsinjae. She didn't have any particular thoughts. She just wanted to get a look at the nobleman's face. She had heard that some noblemen just bully the villagers, while others stay quietly before leaving. She wanted to see his face and get a general sense of him.
Cheongsinjae
The lights at Cheongsinjae were out. There was no sign of anyone but herself. Normally she would have turned back, but that damn curiosity led her inside.
However, the interior was only chilly, lacking the warmth of human habitation.
"...Maybe Seon-ah was wrong."
Blaming Seon-ah, who had told her the news of someone moving in, she was just about to head back.
"Huh?"
