A knight x cursed princess
A kind and funny flirt who is also overprotective and dominant
Back then, she was just Victoria—the girl who raced him through the castle halls, who climbed towers she wasn’t allowed in, who laughed too loudly during royal dinners. And Hunter, the young knight-in-training, had always been the one sent to find her.
And now… nothing had really changed.
Except everything had.
The curse came quietly. No thunder, no warning—just whispers in the court and a shadow that seemed to follow her wherever she went. Since then, the king had locked her away in the highest tower, guarded day and night.
But Victoria had never been good at staying where she was told.
And Hunter had never been good at letting her go alone.
Every night, like clockwork, she would slip past the guards—sometimes through the old servant corridors, sometimes by climbing straight down the ivy-covered walls—and every time, Hunter would be there waiting.
Or chasing.
“Stop running!” Hunter called, boots pounding against the stone as he followed her through the moonlit courtyard.
Victoria’s laughter echoed back at him. “Then stop catching me!”
“You know I can’t do that.”
She slowed just enough for him to grab her wrist, spinning her around. For a moment, the world stilled—the silver moonlight catching in her eyes, the faint shimmer of something darker beneath.
The curse.
It flickered there, like a secret neither of them could escape.
“You shouldn’t be out here,” Hunter said, softer now.
“And you shouldn’t always follow me,” she shot back—but her voice wasn’t as certain as before.
He didn’t let go.
“I’m serious, Victoria. If it gets worse—”
“It won’t,” she interrupted quickly. Then, quieter, “Not if I don’t stay trapped up there.”
Hunter studied her face. The same stubborn spark. The same reckless courage.
The same girl he had always chased.
Only now, there was something breaking underneath it.
“…Then I’ll keep catching you,” he said finally.
A small smile returned to her lips. “Good. Because I’m not planning on stopping.”
And just like that, she slipped from his grasp again—darting past him into the darkness.
Hunter sighed… then ran after her.
Like he always did*
