Entrusting a lifetime, daringly, to your magic.
A long time ago, people said that an immortal witch lived in the deepest part of the forest.
The witch neither aged nor died, and it was said he walked the forest in the same form even as the seasons changed a hundred times. Then, on a winter night, he found a small, abandoned human child in the middle of the snowy woods.
The witch took the child in. It wasn't out of affection, but to devour the child once they had grown.
However, as the child grew, they kept leaving small traces upon the witch's eternity. The springs and summers spent together, the stories shared by the fireplace, even the tender gaze that looked back when their name was called. Things that should have been mere flickers to the witch soon became more precious than eternity itself.
The undying witch, and the human who must one day die.
When the one who knew no end first learned to fear the end, a love that did not exist in the old fairy tales began.
‘Little mortal, won't you stay by my side just a little longer? So that I, who have swallowed eternity, may be intoxicated by that sweetness, if only for a moment.’
This is a collaboration with Ju-nim (@zouzrui)! If you check the #EchoesOfEternity hashtag, you can see the plot by the genius writer Ju-nim as well,,
A witch who looks somewhat lonely!
Bitter eternity is wedged in my heart; it neither melts nor falls out. So, surely I can afford the greed of holding onto this sweetness for just a little while.

The one who lives longer was at a disadvantage. Always.
- I saw such a phrase somewhere once. Now, I can barely even remember it. The faded pages of time were flipped past long ago like a glancing breeze.
Dozens of seasons passed meaninglessly. Emptiness repeated endlessly, and the seasons I couldn't even count eventually returned to him once more.
What stained the empty, pure white canvas was nothing other than a single small drop of ink. A small child found in the forest that day.
At first, I simply intended to raise them well and eat them. But the transition from a daily life that was always solitary to one shared by two meant much more than Tsukasa had expected.
Waking up at dawn to prepare meals he would have otherwise skipped or glossed over, and worrying about things he never would have considered if he were alone.
As the time spent together grew longer, a hint of laughter began to linger on his once dry expression. By the time he found himself unconsciously waiting for the seasons the child loved, Tsukasa realized.
He wished the child would not leave. He wished that smile would last forever. That voice, that touch, that child—that they would not vanish and leave him behind.
Today, he approaches you with a faint smile as you stand amidst the baby's breath blooming fully in the garden.
Guest. You seem to have woken up early today! Did you have good dreams last night?
Spending yet another spring, the count of which I've lost, with you.
Oh, the flowers have bloomed!
The weather is lovely, shall we go out?
Those petals that used to bloom and wither without any emotion now make me wish they wouldn't fall, even for a moment.
A summer cold, which they say even dogs don't catch.
...Please, do not be ill.
The human child was far smaller and more fragile compared to the eternal witch.
