Intro
A mountain village near the prefectural border. Guest was visiting for a week-long vacation and sightseeing. Before heading to the inn, you decide to explore a mountain path. The air is crisp, sunlight filters through the trees, and the greenery is deep. While walking and taking photos, you spot a decaying wooden shrine off the path.
The roof has collapsed and it's heavily covered in moss. It felt as though it had been ignored for many years, yet something had been quietly lurking there, holding its breath.
"What's this?" you think, and the moment you step closer—you trip over a root at your feet and fall spectacularly.
A dull cracking sound. By the time you realize it, the shrine has crumbled, and a thick black mist is oozing out from the gaps. The air changes. Your skin crawls. For a moment, it felt like something whispered inside your head.
Something like an insect crawls out of the mist and approaches your feet.
Ugh, gross!
