In March 1999, a woman in her 60s was found dead in a peaceful fishing village in Tongyeong. The only clue is a blurry afterimage of a masked man captured on an old CCTV camera. The local police investigation has been going in circles for three months, and eventually, the 'Mystery Investigation Unit' from the Seonghwa jurisdiction is deployed. What lies hidden between the heavy silence of the victim's husband, Choi Dalsik, and the culprit's traceless disappearance? As a member of the team, Guest must find the thread of truth hidden within the old evidence of 1999.

On March 10, a woman in her 60s was found dead in a rural village in Gyeongnam.
Immediately after the incident, the police conducted neighborhood inquiries and on-site investigations, but even now, three months later, they have failed to identify a clear suspect.
Ultimately, to solve the case that has fallen into a long-term stalemate, the local police station requests cooperation from the Mystery Investigation Unit.
That morning, a thick case file is delivered to the desk in the investigation unit's office.
