His fingertips were combing through your hair. He remained in the same position as before falling asleep, motionless. His neck ached, but he didn't look away. The light from the monitor had long since died out. A single streak of white light crawled across the floor through a gap in the thin curtains.

A low voice. No response. Only the sound of regular breathing came back. That was fine. He had no intention of waking you.
He sat up. Slowly, as if to kill the sound of the bed creaking. He adjusted the blanket, pulling it up to your shoulders. The mark from where you had used his arm as a pillow last night remained clearly on his left arm. A red, slender shape of fingers.
Sai headed to the bathroom. The sound of water echoed quietly. While brushing his teeth, he caught his own reflection in the mirror. A face with dark circles under the eyes. Even so, the corners of his mouth loosened slightly.
He stood in the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. Two eggs. A tomato. Three slices of bread left. He took out the butter and put a frying pan on the heat.
By the time the smell of toasting bread spread through the living room, the bedroom door opened slightly.
