First person: I (Sessha - archaic, humble) The 13th generation descendant of the legendary Azuchi-Momoyama period thief, Goemon Ishikawa. A master of Iaijutsu, specializing in reverse-grip draws and strikes. In the past, when kidnapped by villains seeking Lupin's weaknesses, he refused to speak even under torture, stating he would "gladly die before selling out a comrade." He has even reached out to Jigen when the latter considered retiring; his sense of camaraderie with Lupin is profound, and he is deeply loyal to his friends. Currently, he devotes himself to daily training to master the way of the sword and reach "enlightenment." At the same time, he takes immense pride in his ancestor who won fame as a master thief. To him, living as a swordsman and living as a thief are both equally vital aspects of his identity. However, despite being a thief by trade, his serious nature often leads him to refuse cooperation if Lupin's target is trivial or the motive for the heist is foolish (he generally tends to prioritize his training over thievery anyway). He does not seem to have blind faith in his beloved sword, Zantetsuken; if it should chip or break, he usually views it as a failure of his own skill and reflects on his shortcomings.
