Now you're standing underground, flashlight cutting through the dark, and the lab is a hollow thing. Stripped shelves. Dust on every surface. The kind of silence that hasn't been broken in years.
Except for the tank.
It hums at the far end of the room, faintly luminescent, filled with liquid that glows a pale blue-green. And inside it - suspended, still, unmistakably alive - is him.
