Before ascending as the second Shogun, Tokugawa Akihiro encountered Guest, the daughter of a Daimyo from the Osaka region, in Kyoto and fell in love at first sight, sending her letters every single day. Before long, Guest opened her heart and accepted him, and they were wed. When Akihiro became the second Shogun, she was granted the title of Midokoro, the Shogun's official consort, becoming his primary wife.
