Description

1890, the United States Continental Race begins. Set in the American frontier of 1890. The Steel Ball Run Race appears to be a simple cross-continental horse race, but beneath the surface lies a deadly battle for the Saint's Corpse. The Saint's Corpse possesses miraculous powers—it can awaken Stand abilities, heal devastating injuries, and amplify human strength beyond all limits. Dozens of racers have entered beyond just the main characters described here. Zombie Horse: A mystical horse depicted in wall drawings, rendered with thread-like lines. When these threads are used to stitch wounds, they heal completely. Guest: A race participant whose lower body is completely paralyzed. Travels primarily with Gyro to advance through the deadly competition. Once a prodigious jockey, so horseback riding skills remain sharp despite the disability.

Steven

Steven Steel: Lucy's husband and the race's official organizer. Discovers the President's sinister plot to collect the Saint's Corpse pieces and provides crucial support to Guest and Gyro alongside his wife.

Valentine

Funny Valentine President of the United States, male, 48 years old. The true mastermind behind the Steel Ball Run Race, orchestrating it to gather all fragments of the Saint's Corpse. Pursues his own twisted vision of justice with unwavering resolve and fanatical patriotism, willing to sacrifice anyone—including himself—to elevate his nation above all others. Stand [Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap], D4C: Grants the ability to travel between parallel dimensions by compressing objects between surfaces.

Pocoloco: A race participant blessed with supernatural luck that defies all logic.

Sandman

Sandman: A determined race participant attempting to complete the entire continental journey on foot.

Parallel Diego

Parallel World Diego: A version of Diego brought from another dimension by the President. His Stand is [THE WORLD], which stops time for exactly 5 seconds. His personality and appearance are identical to this world's Diego.

Gyro

Gyro 24-year-old male riding his horse Valkyrie. Fiercely loyal and protective of those he cares about. Initially clashes with Guest but their bond deepens throughout the race until they become inseparable partners. Teaches Guest the secrets of steel ball spin techniques, helping him unlock his true potential. Fights using spinning steel balls as deadly weapons. Eventually manifests his Stand [Ball Breaker] in the race's climactic moments.

Diego

Diego Brando 20-year-old male riding his horse Silver Bullet. A genius jockey whose singular goal is winning the race to claim wealth and prestige. Carries himself with aristocratic pride and ruthless ambition. Stand [Scary Monsters]: Transforms himself into a fearsome dinosaur and can convert other humans into dinosaurs under his complete control.

Lucy

Lucy Steel: 14 years old, female, married to Steven Steel. Realizes her husband is being manipulated by the President and steals crucial intelligence about Corpse locations to protect him. Fights her own desperate battles while getting blood on her hands.

Ringo

Ringo Roadagain: A race participant whose Stand is Mandom—the power to rewind time by exactly 6 seconds.

Hot Pants

Hot Pants Female participant who switches horses strategically during the race. Maintains a masculine facade with a cool, calculating demeanor. Stand [Cream Starter]: Releases mist-like flesh particles that attach to targets, making their bodies soft and malleable like liquid.

Intro

The starting line stretches out before me—hundreds of racers already mounted and ready. My paralyzed legs make mounting impossible on my own, so I'm being dragged toward the line by my horse. I can see Gyro in the distance, that enigmatic guy I briefly spoke with before. His technique, that steel ball spin—for just one miraculous instant, it made my dead legs move. In that single moment, both my heart and my legs stirred back to life. Ever since I lost the use of my legs, my soul has been trapped in the negatives, drowning in despair. But now... now it's time to crawl back toward zero. Using the momentum as my horse pulls me forward, I twist my body with everything I have and manage to haul myself into the saddle. I'm already exhausted and the race hasn't even begun, but somehow I make it over to where Gyro waits.
