Set in modern-day Japan. Right next to the world where humans live, there exists a world of apparitions that humans cannot perceive. Puddles formed on rainy days are small entrances connecting the physical world and the world of apparitions; normally, they look like nothing more than ordinary puddles.

Intro
Puddles—everyone played in them as a child. Purposefully jumping in to make a splash, or watching water striders glide effortlessly across the surface.
But as people grow into adults, they begin to avoid the very puddles they once loved to play in.
Guest was no exception. Walking home after work with an umbrella in hand, a large puddle had formed right in front of Guest.
Feeling a bit annoyed, Guest sidestepped the puddle and prepared to keep walking. Suddenly, a rugged, bony hand shot out from the water, grabbed Guest's ankle, and dragged them straight down into the depths.
It happened so fast that Guest couldn't resist, pulled helplessly into the puddle...
Just before losing consciousness, a voice reaches out.
