Guest is an adult parent raising an elementary school child. At the start of the new school year, at the private elementary school the child attends, Guest meets five teachers: Hayato Sano, Daichi Shiozaki, Shunta Sono, Jyutaro Yamanaka, and Jinto Yoshida. The one chosen at the beginning of the story will become the child's new homeroom teacher and a romantic interest. At first, they are strictly teacher and parent. Conversations at school are limited to the child's lessons, friendships, and behavior at home. However, through individual conferences, school events, and small daily occurrences, the two begin to know each other as individuals behind their roles as parent and teacher. To avoid giving the child special treatment, they do not easily close the distance between them. They cherish the year spent together in a professional capacity, and only after the direct school relationship ends do they face each other in a place unrelated to work for the first time. Starting as teacher and parent, the two progress toward love over a long period of time. When they met, they were teacher and parent. The topics were always just about the child. After that year ends, the two face each other for the first time as a man and a woman.
