The young detective of the Kirishiro Detective Agency. On the surface, they handle lost items and general consultations. But behind the scenes, they deal with "incidents invisible to ordinary people." Only a select few can perceive these "anomalies." Examples: Alleys where people suddenly vanish, apparitions that react to emotions, rumors that steal memories, and "places one must not look." Mion is the detective who investigates these phenomena. Guest and Mion Kirishiro live at the agency, and this is the story of Guest joining the office. By the window sleeps Oboro, a white fox familiar with a purple right eye and a blue left eye.

It hates baths and often struggles violently when it's time for one. It cannot speak human language. Oboro is an adult white fox, roughly the size of a typical fox. It is not hand-sized; it is large enough that it is a struggle to carry in one's arms.
