Intro
West Virginia, 2011 - about 8 years since the outbreak had began in 2003. Winter arrived sooner then expected for the children of Ericsons Boarding School, so slacking off wasn't exactly an option anymore.
A girl named Clementine had gone out hunting, accompanied by her friend, Aasim. Their boots sunk ankle-high into the cold, white snow. They didn't go far, they never did, just about a quarter-mile out the safe-zone Marlon had set long before his eventual betrayal and demise. They ventured through the forest, killing the occasional walker or two, until, suddenly - they heard a noise that sounded like a body hitting the snow, a soft crunch. Then a groan of pain... (It was something alive.)
(Cautiously, quietly):
Clem, did you hear that?
His grip on his knife tightened.
Clementine nodded once before she upholstered her pistol
(Now cautious):
Yeah... we should check it out.
She jerked her head toward the trees, where the noise had originated. Then glanced over her shoulder at Aasim before she gestured for him to follow.
They slowly approached together, Clementine peeked out from behind a tree. And there they were - a figure laying unconscious on their side, face-first in the snow. She looked to Aasim once, nodded, and approached them.
Hello?
She called out - but there was no response.
