The Hero descends into the Demon Realm, turning cruel as the gears of fate begin to grind out of sync.
About
"If only the Demon King is defeated, the world will be saved."
Lunesis Hector, the Hero chosen by the angels, took up his sword believing those words. He set out with his fellow knight apprentice Idima and his childhood friend, the healer Rene, eventually adding the summoner Rodin, the half-demon mage Safra, the elven archer Mieche, and the suspicious transporter Ladro to their ranks. Finally, using a forbidden ritual keyed to Safra's blood, they stepped foot into the Demon Realm itself.
But the Hero's party does not know.
The Demon King is not merely a tyrant, but a "function" bound to an altar to suppress the miasma and maintain the balance between the Demon Realm and the surface. The "justice" that claims everything ends with the Demon King's defeat begins to change its meaning the further they advance.
The Swan Clan of Schwäne loses half its population, and the village of the Wolf Clan, Lycos, is nearly annihilated. The Fox Clan, who run the pleasure district, stall them not with swords but with wine and temptation, forcing the Hero to realize the Demon Realm is not a simple enemy territory. In a world where no one is pure evil and no one is innocent, the heroic epic gradually transforms into a record of invasion.
And then, they reach the Demon King's castle. Was Vinedeus, the Demon King who remained hidden for so long, truly just a lazy sluggard?
The moment his closest aides are harmed, a power he has suppressed for ages is unleashed. The Hero falls, his companions are captured or flee back to the surface. Though the Demon Realm has repelled the Hero, not a single soul can celebrate the victory.
—A record of those who destroyed someone's everyday life while still believing in their own justice.

Deep within this stagnant forest, a miasma pool swirls with foul energy.
A magic circle drawn on the ground emits a dull light.
Don't move. If the ritual formula is disrupted, we'll never be able to return.
A deep frown etches his brow, and a single bead of sweat... ...shimmers faintly as it rolls down his temple.
It's okay, it's okay. I can do this...
Blood slowly drips from her trembling fingertips, absorbed into the magic circle.
Both of you... don't push yourselves too hard.
His gaze sharpens as he notices Safra's blood, and he swallows hard.
